    <content type="html">&amp;nbsp;I'm alive... or at least I think I am.&amp;nbsp; Been doing the house fix up thing for awhile now as well as getting into the book series "Myth" that kur0mu turned me onto.&amp;nbsp; Took awhile to find a good ebook reader and I kept having to find my spot in notepad.&amp;nbsp; Pain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is a great feeling about finishing a house project...&amp;nbsp; But the fun is starting it.&amp;nbsp; You take out the carpet in a room cause it smells with the intention of putting down some vinyl tile.&amp;nbsp; Lo and behold, there is vinly under it already.&amp;nbsp; Pull that up and discover that old vinly seperates from its backing...&amp;nbsp; And thats not so fun to remove.&amp;nbsp; Pull all the nails from the tack strip and sweep up.&amp;nbsp; Then someone takes a shower and we notice water seeping from the edge of the shower door....&amp;nbsp; Thats only gonna mean re-grouting the floor in the shower.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Long story short, a weekend day project turns into a bigger thing.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I understand why some would say I'm indentured to this but alot of it is actually quite fun...&amp;nbsp; Not the scrape-the-floor-with-a-chisel-until-your-fingers-go-numb part though.&amp;nbsp; I do, however, look forward to when all of the initial painting and fixing is done so that I can come home and just chill for a day or two before begining any other tasks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And why the hell did I buy a 3G when everywhere but home has resulted in me being on the edge network anyway?</content>

    <content type="html">So when I looked at it, the reason why RDP wasn't working was that we changed the port number on that server and I had told the firewall to redirect it back to the original port.&amp;nbsp; Oops.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The latest one, which took three days and several network outages, as to get the network composer in place.&amp;nbsp; This handy box which costs WAY more then my car tracks EVERYTHING that goes out or comes into my network from the internet.&amp;nbsp; It does content filtering, virus scanning, and my favorite...&amp;nbsp; Packet shaping.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Sure, you can stream video... but you'll never get more then 2MB of my 10MB pipe!"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 10MB pipe is getting installed in July I believe.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But regardless, every time i cut over to this thing, my load balanced would crash.&amp;nbsp; What the hell?!?!?&amp;nbsp; To make a long story short, I ended up creating a VLAN, putting the firewall and the composer on it, and then everything worked.&amp;nbsp; Getting from point A to point B was kind of rough though as I forgot to change the routing when I changed the firewall IP so I had to connect a computer via cross over cable and...&amp;nbsp; Well... You get the idea.&amp;nbsp; It should be fine now and I was looking forward to stress testing it.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Snow day...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Damn.</content>

    <content type="html">I was trying to fix our "email not getting through the spam filter" problem yesterday and all of a sudden the internet connection goes down.&amp;nbsp; Funny thing was that the email started flowing again.&amp;nbsp; So I tried to fix the configuration of the firewall for a while, then tried to fix the configuration of the router...&amp;nbsp; Lets just say there was alot of headache involved.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I called the ISP and made them take the NAT statements out of the router because our firewall does NAT too.&amp;nbsp; No need to double it up.&amp;nbsp; In the process I started creating a new configuration for the firewall.&amp;nbsp; One alot cleaner and elegant.&amp;nbsp; The end result is that while they were back up and running before the end of the work day yesterday, I've missed a few things.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can't RDP into my servers anymore from the outside world to fix anything at the moment.&amp;nbsp; So my two domains remain down.&amp;nbsp; I promise I haven't let them lapse.&amp;nbsp; I just checked the registration and etherwinds is good until June.&amp;nbsp; Intercave is good until september.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thanks for noticing though.&amp;nbsp; :)</content>

    <content type="html">Do to some fortunate happenings I have been able to obtain a PS3 (completely legally I assure you).  The PS3 comes with a copy of Folding@Home already on it.  After two upgrades I let the sucker whurl.  And for some reason, that got me back into it.  Like a kid at a candy shop, I'm running around looking at every computer I can find to see if it would be good for folding...  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know CHIMERA is...  Thats my workstation with the 2 xeon processors and 2 gigs of ram.  Its good to be the caveman.  :)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then I put the PS3 to work as well as CAVE (my server at work).  So I've got 4 intel processors and a CELL processor going for my name (for team Ikith of course....  10064).  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But thats not enough... NOOOO...  I put the SMP client on the webserver at work along with the two mail servers there.  When you think about it.  Every idle minute those servers have, their helping fight cancer.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bring it on...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(The servers at work run under a different name because I don't actually own them.  Just so you competitive geeks out there don't get all huffy)</content>

    <content type="html">Well, last month I disputed a charge from some Packet8 telephone company.  The reason was simple.  I DIDN'T DO IT!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This month I get to dispute ANOTHER charge from the Packet8 telephone company as well as one from HughesNet.com which I'm being told usually has something to do with DirectTV.  Again, NOT ME!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I reported my card as having been frauded and they are issuing me a new one.  That absolutely pisses me off.  Someone seems to have gotten ahold of a card they tried to issue to me because my current one is expiring.  And its not like they are racking up bills...  Nooo....  They're making small little purchases mostly.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Time to go clean the guns...</content>

    <content type="html">Death..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some times I amuse myself by thinking of it.&amp;nbsp; Thinking of what it&amp;nbsp;means.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;What happens next?&amp;nbsp; Yes, yes...&amp;nbsp; I know.&amp;nbsp; I believe in heaven.&amp;nbsp; But what if there isn't anything else.&amp;nbsp; Or what if there is infinitly more...&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've pondered on the subject&amp;nbsp;and asked myself the&amp;nbsp;most mortaly of questions.&amp;nbsp; If&amp;nbsp;I died, whom would miss me?&amp;nbsp; Whom would come to my funeral...&amp;nbsp; The answers to those questions changes on a&amp;nbsp;yearly basis.&amp;nbsp; Don't take it the wrong way.&amp;nbsp; Don't assume that I am&amp;nbsp;an emo&amp;nbsp;kind.&amp;nbsp; It is just another series of questions.&amp;nbsp; I question the world around me in order to better understand.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And it occurs to me that none of the questions worth asking ever have answers.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Death...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don't get emotional...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don't break down into tears...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I watch with a quiet silence and reverance as another of my lineage passes into a place that I can not even fathom...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;October 17th at roughly 6am my GrandFather passed away.&amp;nbsp; He succumbed to complications caused by lung cancer.&amp;nbsp; He walked this world for 90 some odd years...&amp;nbsp; He fought in World War 2...&amp;nbsp; And he taught me to play euchre.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will miss him.&amp;nbsp;</content>
